The Big Bear Rail Controller was designed by the creators of Moore Street TMD to enable a complex end to end layout run realistically with several sound enabled locos operating at the same time with the switching of turnouts, routes and signals. It was soon realised that the only practical way to operate Moore Street TMD was with the investment of some train controller software for my lap top.
My very good friend and model railway enthusiast just happens to be a computer programmer, so over a beer one night we decided to create our own operating software for Moore Street TMD. What initially started off as a hobby soon turned out to be a sophisticated piece of software. The Big Bear Rail Controller was born.
Once developed then tweaked to perfection, we realised that other Model Railway Enthusiasts could benefit from the Big Bear DCC Rail Controller software. We decided to release the Big Bear software for other like minded fellow model railway enthusiasts that may have invested in DCC control.
